Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif offered Eid prayer with troops on forward locations in Khyber Agency today and exchanged Eid greetings. He commended every soldier for spending their Eid in the line of duty for a greater cause of defence of motherland. COAS was briefed by operation commander on the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb. He expressed his complete satisfaction over achievements of the operation so far.
While appreciating the high state of morale of troops, COAS paid them rich tributes for their outstanding achievements in the ongoing anti-terrorism operation. He said, with entire nation standing behind Armed forces in their fight against terrorism, Pakistan is bound to defeat all internal and external perpetrators of terrorism. “We must focus on a whole of nation response to deny opportunities to prevent any organized activity by enemies of state.” COAS emphasized the need to work at all levels for preventing terrorists from establishing bases across border and infiltrating into Pakistan. Gen Sharif reiterated “We must not forget our martyrs and their families while celebrating the Eid.”
It is indeed a truth that COAS has reached the heights of popularity among the masses. This is not the first time he spent Eid with the soldiers fighting war against terror; we have witnessed his presence in every time of need. During the hard time of natural calamities like floods and earthquakes army comes ahead for the rescue under the guidance of COAS. On the other side, leaders of other major political parties have spent Eid abroad. Due to the sacrifices of our army we can affirm with a lot of conviction that today our country is much stronger and the Pakistani nation more resolute than ever before. Successful operation Zarb-e-Azb has eliminated terrorists those were posing threats to challenge the writ of the state. We have also seen COAS reiterating for the completion of China Pakistan Economic Corridor at any cost.
