Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz expresses displeasure over poor results of ninth grade

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed displeasure over the 9th-grade examination results and decided to introduce a new ordinance to initiate legal action against teachers whose students performed poorly.

A decision has been reached to link students' exam results with teacher performance, and an agreement in principle has been made to implement monthly and annual examinations for every class.
 Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif ordered the presentation of a comprehensive timeline and reform plan by next week and directed that immediate action be taken regarding 9th-grade results that fell below 20 percent.

Directives were also issued to reward high-performing schools, with plans to announce prizes for the top-performing schools in each district based on their results.

A decision was made to launch evening coaching classes for students struggling academically in government schools, while a consensus was reached to discourage the practice of expelling such students.

The Chief Minister also directed that vacant head teacher positions be filled within 45 days and instructed that the deployment of subject specialists in government schools be ensured.
