London: British Homeless Minister Roshan Ara Ali has resigned from her post after facing intense public and political criticism for increasing the rent of her personal home by 700 pounds per month.
According to British media, a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, 10 Downing Street, confirmed that the resignation of the female minister came in the context of a personal property issue.
British Homeless Minister Roshan Ara Ali, a British politician of Bangladeshi origin, said that it was a difficult decision for me to resign, but I did not want my personal matters to interfere with the important work of the government. I have always followed the legal requirements in full.
British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer praised Roshan Ara Ali’s role upon her resignation, saying that the female minister has worked effectively on an important issue such as the problems of the homeless and is confident that she will continue to serve her party and constituency.
It should be noted that it was being said publicly that the minister, who excessively increased the rent for her house, does not understand the pain of the homeless and therefore is not qualified for this ministry.
