ISLAMABAD: Sardar Khan Niazi, Chief Editor of the Pakistan Group of Newspapers and Chairman of Roze News TV, talked in Sachi Baat. In the program, SK Niazi discussed about the Review of Judgments and Orders Act 2023 and Youm-E-Takbeer and political changes in the country with his guests including Justice® Shaiq Usmani, Brigadier ® Farooq, : Justice ® Wajih Udin and President IHCB Naveed Malik. Chairman of Roze News TV said “Bills and amendments are mostly made for personal goals.” He said either its politician or judiciary or any institute, bring up amendments in the laws for their personal goals rather than keeping the interest of the country.
Replying to a question, Justice® Shaiq Usmani said that all those cases which were registered due to Article-184, at that time political parties have nothing to file against them. He raised a question that it’s not sure whether larger bench can review petition or not? He stressed that Parliament has a right to form constitute. He cleared that Govt also have right to form a commission consist of judges on audio-tapes issue. Justice® Shaiq suggested that Judiciary must stay away from political issues. Involvement causes complexities and criticism on the whole judiciary system.
Answering to a question, Brigadier ® Farooq said that “All the problems of Pakistan will be solved soon.” He said yesterday whole nation celebrated Youm-e-Takbeer with high energy. Talking about Pakistani politics he said, after few weeks President will be retired. Than in June, there will be summer vacations for the SC. After summer vacations, there will be a new CJ in SC. Now the playing field is all clear for Govt because PTI is facing a very tough time.
Responding to the question, Justice ® Wajih Udin told that it’s surprising that how president approve that bill (Review of Judgments and Orders Act 2023). He said this law will reduce the SC powers. Due to this law SC old verdict can be challenged again. Justice criticizes and claimed that Review of Judgments and Orders Act 2023 and Practice and Procedure Bill 2023 both are unconstitutional and unlawful. He mocked the govt that budget of 20 billion rupees was secretly approved for govt’s law team but they have no money for the elections. He said it is cleared that why Pakistan mocked as a banana republic. He aimed that people will decide the future of Pakistani Politics in coming elections.
President IHCB Naveed Malik also shared his views on Review of Judgments and Orders Act 2023. He said “In this law accused has granted a chance to appeal. Review of Judgments and Orders Act 2023 is the best example of law amendments.
It will bring betterment in law. He also said that hearing of review appeal will be done under larger bench which is a remarkable step. He felt that there is nothing objectionable in Review of Judgments and Orders Act 2023. He said that President has now got that without any reason he can’t stop amendments of govt. He told that due to everyday leaks the judicial inquiry commission was necessary because there were also judges audio tapes circulation on the social media in the near past.
