Commuters in a metropolis that has long lacked high-quality transportation may now sigh with relief as the intra-district Peoples Bus Service was officially launched on Monday by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. The mass transit system’s purpose is to make life easier for Karachi residents and to build the city’s much-needed infrastructure for public transportation.

Around 240 buses with air conditioning that were supplied from China will operate on seven routes in Karachi as part of the Peoples Intra District Bus Service initiative.
