Rawalpindi: South African pacer Anrich Nortje on Tuesday said that the defeat in the Karachi Test has made the visitors more positive than negative ahead of the second Test in Rawalpindi.

The 27-year-old Nortje while talking in a video released by the Cricket South Africa (CSA) stated that the pace attack did well in the Karachi Test.

“We had a good chat after the game with regards to what we did right (in Karachi Test) and what we didn’t do right. We’re quite clear on what we want to achieve and how we want to go about it,” Nortje said.

“Patience was very key in that game and there were stages where we did that really well and then there were stages when we were off the mark, myself included,” said Nortje, who took four wickets in that match.

“You can’t be searching for wickets. We’re not very far off them…there were some moments when we were on top and hopefully we can bring that momentum into (the second Test,” he maintained.

Meanwhile, Nortje is not sure what to accept from Rawalpindi’s pitch and he will look at it on the first morning of the Test match.

“I’m not going to even have a look at it. In the last 24 hours, it has quite changed a bit,” he concluded.
