Ali Amin Gandapur has become the fifth Chief Minister to hold the post of Chief Minister for less than 2 years.
According to Express News, Ali Amin Gandapur became the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa one year and seven months ago. He was nominated for the post after winning the general elections last year.
Gandapur was elected Chief Minister on March 1, 2024 and took oath as Chief Minister on March 2. He is the fifth Chief Minister to hold the post for less than two years.
The shortest-term Chief Minister in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was Pir Sabir Shah of the PML-N, who held the post for four months and five days, from October 20, 1993 to February 25, 1994.
After him, Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao of the PPP remained Chief Minister for one year, seven months and 25 days. He remained Chief Minister from December 2, 1988 to August 7, 1990.
Then JUI’s Mufti Mahmood (late) was the Chief Minister for 11 months and 15 days. He held the post of Minister from 1 March 1972 to 15 February 1973.
In fourth place is PPP’s Sardar Inayatullah Gandapur who was the Chief Minister for one year, 10 months and 17 days. He was the Chief Minister from 29 April 1973 to 16 February 1975.
