ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reported 98 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,186,234. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 26,330 on Tuesday.
According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 3,316 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
Punjab remains the worst-hit province in terms of deaths followed by Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Till now 12,096 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 6,995 in Sindh 5,130 in KP, 877 in Islamabad, 712 in Azad Kashmir, 342 in Balochistan, and 178 in GB.
Furthermore 439,119 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 405,005 in Punjab 165,512 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 101,249 in Islamabad, 32,873 in Azad Kashmir, 32,411 in Balochistan and 10,065 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Pakistan has so far conducted 18,162,771 coronavirus tests and 52,314 in the last 24 hours. 1,067,589 patients have recovered in the country whereas 5,478 patients are in critical condition.
