LAHORE: Inzamam-ul-Haq, a former cricketer for Pakistan and the country’s chief selector, has stated that if the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) approaches him with a coaching offer, he will consider it.
The former batter told reporters in Lahore that “I have not been called by the board or offered any role of chief selector or coach and if I will be given any offer, I would ponder about it.”
While supporting Pakistan’s captain Babar Azam, he stated, “If any player feels pressure on him, his performance is damaged. Babar performs admirably in all three formats; he is under no pressure, yet it takes time to develop one’s leadership skills. To lead the team, he needs more time.
Additionally, Inzamam stated that cricket matches against other nations, whether they be Afghanistan or India, are always welcome.
He claimed that hiring a foreign coach was not the best solution for Pakistan’s problems and that Pakistani coaches might be an even better choice. Mickey Arthur flourished during my leadership, but Saqlain Mushtaq and Mohammad Yousuf are currently also flourishing. Any cricket player who has played can coach; it is not necessary to be a national or international coach.
He also discussed the eighth Pakistan Super League season (PSL). Matches must to be held in all significant cities, including Peshawar. International teams will agree to play at various sites if PSL matches are held in these places, he claimed.
