
Three players from Sri Lanka tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday, just days before the second Test against Australia was set to begin in Galle (Friday).
Dhananjaya de Silva, Asitha Fernando, and Jeffrey Vandersay are the impacted cricketers; they have been dropped from the team.
All of the other members of the team’s COVID-19 tests were negative, with the exception of backup spinner Praveen Jayawickrama, who won’t be able to participate in tomorrow’s game.Angelo Mathews, a former captain of Sri Lanka, will now be able to win in the final Test after a coronavirus test came back negative. Last week, the two athletes developed COVID-19.
Lakshan Sandakan, a left-arm spinner, has been incorporated into the group.
