Jenin, Palestinian Territories: Three Palestinians were killed and eight others were injured in an Israeli operation in Jenin, the occupied West Bank, on Friday morning, according to Palestinian news agency Wafa.
The three men were murdered when Israeli soldiers opened fire on the car in which they were travelling, which has expanded their operations in the area in recent months.
The bodies of the three young men, as well as a white vehicle riddled with gunshot holes, were seen at the morgue by an AFP photographer on the site.
In a brief message in Hebrew, the Israeli army stated it was undertaking an operation in Jenin to locate weapons from two separate places.
Shireen Abu Akleh, a famous Al Jazeera TV reporter, was shot and killed in Jenin last month while documenting an Israeli army operation.
The Palestinian Authority, Al Jazeera, and Qatar, where the channel is based, all blamed Israel for the journalist’s death.
The reporter, who was wearing a bullet-proof vest with the word “press” on it and a reporting helmet when she was shot, was killed in a war crime, according to a Palestinian investigation.
