Women's World Cup: Pakistan continues to bat in pursuit of India's target of 248 runs

In the sixth match of the ICC Women’s World Cup, India set Pakistan a target of 248 runs to win, in pursuit of which three players of the national team have been dismissed.

According to the details, the toss of the match being played at the Premadasa Stadium in Colombo was in favor of Pakistan, on which the captain of the national team decided to field.

During the toss, the Indian captain showed stubbornness and did not shake the traditional handshake with the Pakistani captain.

Pakistan’s innings

Pakistan could not get a good start in pursuit of India’s target of 248 runs and returned to the pavilion with three players out for 26 runs. The first player to be dismissed was Muniba, who was run out after scoring 2 runs for a total score of only 6.

After this, the second wicket fell to Sadaf Shams for 20 runs, who scored only 6 runs off 24 balls, then the third player to be dismissed was Alia Riaz, who returned to the pavilion for 26 runs.

After this, Sidra Amin and Natalia Parvez batted responsibly and took the score to 58 runs at the end of 21 overs.

India’s innings

Pratika and Smriti opened the batting for India and added 48 runs to the total score, on this occasion Pakistan got its first victory.

The last players of the Indian team were out on the last ball of the 50th over for a total score of 247. Harleen Deol was the outstanding batsman with 46 and Richa Ghosh with 35 runs. For Pakistan, Dania Baig took 4 wickets, Sadia Iqbal and Fatima Sana took 2 wickets each, while Ramin and Nishra took one wicket each.

The captain of the national women’s team said that they performed well in the qualifiers and will perform better today as well.

It should be remembered that the Sri Lankan Meteorological Department has predicted intermittent rain in Colombo throughout the day today.
