US Secretary of War Pat Hegseth said in a press conference that the Iranians say they have control over the Strait of Hormuz, but this is not the case. If Iran attacks commercial ships, it will face US firepower.

Secretary of War Pat Hegseth said that the US does not want war with Iran, will not enter Iranian airspace or Iranian waters, Operation Project Freedom is only to open the Strait of Hormuz, he demanded that Japan and South Korea join efforts to open the Strait of Hormuz.

Hegseth said that the US military wants to end Iran’s illegal occupation of the Strait of Hormuz and protect commercial ships from Iranian aggression. The world must step up and take responsibility for the Strait of Hormuz.

Pat Hegseth also said that Iran’s plan is a form of international blackmail and is unacceptable, and that Iran will respond strongly if it attacks commercial shipping.

US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Kaine, while holding a press conference with the Secretary of War, said that US forces are ready for major operations against Iran.

He claimed that Iran’s command and control center has been affected, and also said that Iran’s actions have not reached the point where the war should be resumed.

General Dan Kaine said that Project Freedom was launched on Sunday on the orders of President Trump. The aim of Project Freedom is to restore commercial traffic through the Strait of Hormuz.
