Karachi: Sindh Governor Syed Muhammad Nehal Hashmi has said that uninterrupted gas supply to domestic consumers should be ensured at all costs, while continuous supply of gas to industrial areas is also very essential.
He directed that effective and strict measures should be taken to prevent gas theft and a coordinated and functional system should be formed for the immediate redressal of citizens’ complaints.
The Sindh Governor further said that the upgradation of gas infrastructure will not only improve supply but also overcome pressure problems.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Muhammad Amin Rajput, Managing Director of Sui Southern Gas, at the Governor House.
On this occasion, the Managing Director gave a detailed briefing on the current gas supply, problems faced and ongoing measures. In the meeting, reduction in line losses, improvement of gas infrastructure and pressure issues were discussed in detail.
Managing Director Muhammad Amin Rajput said that gas is being provided to industrial areas on priority basis, while steps are also being taken to further improve the overall supply through the import of LNG.
