ANKARA: Turkey rejected Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s request to block his flight from passing through its airspace, as a result of which he could not attend the COP-29 meeting in Azerbaijan.
Turkish news agency Anadolu reports that officials have confirmed that the government of Israel requested President Isaac Herzog to leave the airspace to attend the COP-29 summit in Baku.
Officials said that the request of the Israeli government has been rejected.
Earlier, a statement from the Israeli president’s office said that Herzog had canceled his participation in the 29th UN Climate Change Conference due to security concerns.
