Trump ended India and Pakistan war: White House

WASHINGTON :White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt credited President Donald Trump with brokering peace between India and Pakistan.She enlisted President Trump’s achievements during a press briefing here on Monday. “Look at what the president has done on the world stage. He has ended wars, like India and Pakistan. He continues to work aggressively to end the war in Russia and Ukraine.”
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, however, did not acknowledge President Trump’s role in ceasefire between India and Pakistan after a four-day war in May as “it [ceasefire] was achieved through talks between the two militaries and not the US mediation.”She said the president wanted immediate ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine; he also called for ceasefire and immediate release of hostages in Gaza.
Ms Leavitt stated that Secretary of State Marco Rubio intervened to reduce tensions in Syria. The president was disheartened by Israeli bombings on churches in Syria and Gaza, she added.
She said that the United States was still willing to hold talks with Iran.
She listed Trump’s achievements in the six months of his second term as US president mentioning “controlling Biden-era inflation prices”, and “securing American borderlands and homeland”, among others.
