The Integrity Unit of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has charged three individuals, including a former board director, with violating various provisions of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.

According to the BCB, the action against the three individuals has been taken in connection with their participation in last season’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) in various capacities.

The board said in a statement issued on Tuesday that former BCB director Mukhlis-ur-Rehman is also among the three individuals who have been charged.

The Integrity Unit had initiated an investigation against Mukhlis-ur-Rehman following an investigative report published by journalist Riyad Azim on his official Facebook page in January. He was elected as the BCB director after the October 6 elections, while Aminul Islam later appointed him as the chairman of the audit committee.

Mukhlis-ur-Rehman resigned from his position in the BCB in January after the investigative report came out.

The latest action is part of a broader investigation by the BCB’s Integrity Unit into alleged corruption in the past few editions of the BPL.

Earlier in May this year, four other individuals, including a local cricketer, were charged during the BCB’s corruption probe. Among them, Sameenur Rahman, who was associated with the Chittagong Royals, was banned for life in the 2025-26 BPL for involvement in other allegations, including betting-related activities.

On the other hand, BCB President Tamim Iqbal has recently made it clear that he is not in favour of continuing the BPL in its current form, which is also raising questions about the future format and management of the league.
