Defense Minister Khawaja Asif states that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is likening the federal capital, Islamabad, to the Somnath Temple; however, he asserts that this will be their final attempt, and they will not be able to make such a move again thereafter.

Speaking during a recent interview while accompanying Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s delegation to the United Nations General Assembly session in New York, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif remarked that the PTI is drawing a parallel between Islamabad and Somnath.

He questioned whether their intentions were the same, noting that Islamabad is the capital of a major Islamic and nuclear-armed state. He declared that, God willing, this would be their last attempt—after which they would be unable to turn their sights toward the capital again—and that this would be a decisive battle.
