Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, while issuing a message on the occasion of International Rural Women’s Day, said that the purpose of celebrating this day is to appreciate the hard work, struggle and services of rural women.

Maryam Nawaz said that the rural women of Punjab are the best example of hard work, love, sense of responsibility and sacrifice, thanks to which the land of the province becomes fertile, homes remain settled and the country’s economy is strengthened.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif said that rural women are not only hard workers but are playing an active role in the development of Punjab. She clarified that the protection of every woman, including rural women, is her “red line”. She said that she wants rural women not to remain just farmers but to play an effective role in decision-making and the economy.

The Chief Minister said that the Punjab government is providing new opportunities and facilities for rural women, including Kisan Card, Livestock Card and Himmat Card. She said that basic health centers are being upgraded, while interest-free loans, laptops and educational scholarships are bringing positive changes in the lives of rural girls.

Maryam Nawa added that employment opportunities are being provided to women through skill development programs and provision of livestock, while a virtual police station is ensuring the protection of women’s rights.
