Another European country, Luxembourg, has announced that it will join other countries in recognizing Palestine as a state at the upcoming United Nations meeting.

According to the World News Agency, this was announced by Luxembourg Prime Minister Luc Frieden in his statement.

He said that the situation in Gaza has deteriorated significantly in recent months, with famine, genocide and serious human rights violations being witnessed.

The Luxembourg Prime Minister added that in these circumstances, European countries have no choice but to seek a two-state solution for immediate and lasting peace.

He said that this is why activities for a two-state solution for Palestine have increased rapidly around the world.

Prime Minister Luc Frieden added that we, like other European countries, will be among those recognizing Palestine at the United Nations General Assembly meeting to be held on September 23.

It should be remembered that France, Britain, Canada, Australia, Belgium and Malta have also made the same announcement, while the Portuguese government is also considering it.

According to an estimate, 17 more countries may announce their recognition of Palestine at the upcoming session of the United Nations General Assembly.

On the other hand, the extremist government of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has threatened that if this happens, it will annex most of the West Bank.

It should be noted that currently, 147 out of 193 member states of the United Nations have recognized Palestine as an independent state.
