New York: US Representative Mike Waltz has stated that President Donald Trump is determined to ensure Iran never acquires nuclear weapons, and that Washington will continue to exert maximum pressure on Iran to achieve this goal.

According to Al Jazeera, Waltz said on the social media platform X that the door remains open for Iran to return to the negotiating table; however, Tehran must return to talks with seriousness and good faith.

Speaking at an event in New York, Waltz described the conflict involving the US, Israel, and Iran as a continuation of a decades-long struggle.

He asserted that Iran would not be permitted to hold the world—including the Strait of Hormuz—hostage through the acquisition of a nuclear umbrella.
