Thanks to the centuries of Travis Head and Steve Smith, Australia’s position in the Sydney Test has been strengthened.

By the end of the third day of the final Test match of the Ashes series being played in Sydney, Australia had scored 518 runs for the loss of 7 wickets and had a lead of 134 runs.

Captain Steve Smith is at the crease with 129 runs and Bev Webster is at the crease with 42 runs.

Travis Head was dismissed after playing a brilliant innings of 163 runs. This is his third century in the ongoing Ashes series.

Marnus Labuschagne was dismissed for 48, Cameron Green 37, Michael Nesser 24, Jack Weatherald 21, Usman Khawaja 17 and Alex Carey 16 runs.

For England, Brydon Carse took 3, Ben Stokes took 2 while Josh Ting and Jacob Bethell took one wicket each.

Earlier, the English team was bowled out for 384 runs in its second innings. Joe Root scored 160 and Harry Brook scored 84 runs.

For Australia, Michael Nasser took 4 wickets, Mitchell Starc and Scott Boland took 2 wickets each, while Cameron Green and Marnus Labuschagne took one wicket each.
