Suicide blast at police post in Bannu late night, death toll rises to 15

DI Khan: Terrorists rammed a vehicle loaded with explosives into the Fateh Khel police post in Bannu late last night, killing 15 police personnel.

According to the police, three personnel were pulled out alive from the wreckage.

The martyrs include Rehmat Ayaz, Sanaullah, Niaz Ali, Sahib, Saadullah, Kamran son of Mahmood Khan, Nematullah, Kamran, Abid Jani, Imran, Naeemullah, Siddiqullah, Mir Alam Khan, Rahatullah Khan and Farooq Dad.

DIG Bannu Region Sajjad Khan visited the DHQ Hospital late last night and visited the injured personnel.

Talking to the media at the hospital, DIG Bannu Region said that the morale of Bannu Police is high, terrorists will never succeed in their nefarious intentions.

DIG Bannu said that this will prove to be the last cowardly act of terrorists, Bannu Police will selectively bring the terrorists to justice and ensure their complete elimination from the area.

According to the police, the search and rescue operation is still ongoing.

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi strongly condemned the terrorist attack on Fateh Khel Police Station in Bannu district and expressed deep sorrow and grief over the loss of lives.

Sohail Afridi directed to ensure the provision of best medical facilities to the injured and prayed for the elevation of the ranks of the martyrs and the speedy recovery of the injured.

He said that the war against terrorism is not only a war of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but of the entire country. Decisions made in closed rooms and imposed policies have pushed the country into the quagmire of unrest. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government stands with every family affected by terrorism.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has made great sacrifices by being in the forefront against terrorism. They will not let the sacrifices of the martyrs go in vain. They will end the scourge of terrorism.
