Six of family killed as fire erupts in 4-storey building

LAHORE: Six members of a family were killed as a four-storey house caught fire here on Thursday.

Soon after eruption, the fire quickly engulfed the entire house. Firefighters and rescue teams reached the spot but faced difficulty in their rescue operation due to narrow streets.  The flames were extinguished after a long battle. At least six fire brigade tenders took part in the operation.

Four persons, including a one-year old child and a woman, were rescued. The deceased were identified as 70-year old Gulshan BiBi, Muhammad Ali, Shahid Ali and Shahid Ayesha,

The rescue sources said that the fire was erupted due to a short circuit.
