Security has been put on high alert in the federal capital after reports of a delegation led by the Iranian foreign minister arriving in Islamabad for possible talks.

Entry into Islamabad’s Red Zone remains closed and police personnel have been instructed to report to their duties.

Public transport, including the metrobus service, is also closed in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

It should be noted that the government had issued instructions to close government and other offices located in the Red Zone and work from home in view of the negotiations between the United States and Iran, and had also restricted transport in the Red Zone.
