ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Educational Institutions Regularity Authority (PEIRA), a department of Ministry of CADD has prepared a new policy for the registration of new private educational institutions.
Under the new policy, only those schools would be registered which would fulfil the PEIRA rules relating to buildings and other requirements. The policy says that educational institutions set up in residential areas would be given one year time period to shift out of these areas. The running of schools in residential areas is violation of the PEIRA rules, the new policy says.
The new schools would be required to have their own sports grounds and must be housed out of the residential areas.
It is worth mentioning that registration of new schools was stopped in January last year and a number cases relating to registration were pending.
With the enforcement of the new policy, registration of new schools has been restored and so far ten schools have been registered.
