PTI's Khadija Shah challenges 5-year prison sentence for arson

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf supporter and famous social media activist Khadija Shah has challenged the prison sentence awarded to her in the Lahore High Court for burning a government vehicle.

According to details, Khadija Shah has approached the Lahore High Court against the five-year prison sentence awarded by the Anti-Terrorism Court Lahore in the case of burning a government vehicle near Jinnah House.

Khadija Shah filed an appeal through her lawyer Sameer Khosa, in which she has taken the position that the trial court has given a decision contrary to the requirements of the law.

The petition said that the court did not examine the facts properly and the evidence was ignored.

The appeal has requested that the trial court’s decision be declared null and void and Khadija Shah be acquitted.

It should be noted that the court acquitted Shah Mehmood Qureshi and others in this case, while Yasmin Rashid, Omar Sarfaraz Cheema and other leaders and workers were sentenced to 10 years in prison each.
