ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s joint parliamentary party has agreed to expedite steps for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan.
The PTI’s joint parliamentary party met in which a unanimous resolution was passed regarding the country’s political situation.
According to the text of the resolution, it was agreed that the joint parliamentary party should take all possible political and legal steps for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan.
The resolution emphasized the supremacy of the constitution, the rule of law and the independence of the judiciary, while expressing full confidence in the opposition leaders in the Senate and the National Assembly.
The resolution said that the suggestions given by the opposition leader will be fully implemented.
The resolution passed in the joint parliamentary party meeting expressed concern over the continued imprisonment of the PTI founder and condemned the targeting of the former prime minister as a target of political revenge. The parliamentary party was also asked to take practical steps for the release of the PTI founder.
Speaking to the media after the parliamentary party meeting of the opposition alliance, the head of the united opposition, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, said that we discussed the situation of inflation, hunger and poverty in the country in the meeting. A large number of parliamentarians attended the meeting.
He said that we have decided that we will launch a movement, remain peaceful, and will not abuse anyone. We are saddened by the waste of the constitution in the country. The wings of the parties that were being said to be working for the survival of democracy have been clipped. We have decided that we have to reject the constitution.
