ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met President Asif Ali Zardari and took him into confidence on all aspects of the US-Iran talks.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met President Asif Ali Zardari at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister gave the President a detailed briefing on the various stages of the talks and took him into confidence on all aspects of the US-Iran talks.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also briefed the President on the progress achieved through Pakistan’s mediation and informed the President about his upcoming visits to Saudi Arabia and Turkey.

On this occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari said that the impact of the war has been on the region and international security, economy and politics.

The President appreciated Pakistan’s tireless efforts to host the Iran-US talks and the efforts of the Prime Minister, Field Marshal and all state institutions.

The President said that Pakistan has further strengthened its status as a responsible and key state, Pakistan has proven its peace-loving reputation before the world.

He said that the Prime Minister, Deputy Prime Minister should remain in touch with the US, Iran, and regional and global powers. Through contacts, the continuity of the peace process and regional harmony can be ensured.
