Prime Minister committed to facilitating investment in information technology and other sectors

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with a delegation of global digital operator VEON Group CEO Can Terzi Olu in Islamabad. The Prime Minister welcomed the delegation and expressed his good wishes.

The Prime Minister said that the government is committed to facilitating investment by international investors, especially in the information technology sector. Pakistan wants to ensure transparency while embracing digitalization in the economy.

After the auction of 5G spectrum to telecom operators in the country, all relevant institutions are working in cooperation and coordination to provide quality internet services to the public.

The Prime Minister further said that Pakistan’s young population can play a key role in the country’s economy and provision of other quality services through constructive participation in information technology and digital platforms.

The trend of Pakistan’s young population in telecom and information technology is of interest to international investors.

On this occasion, Global Digital Operator VEON Group CEO Can Terzi Olu specially thanked the Prime Minister for his visit to the Prime Minister House.

Kan Terzi Oğlu particularly praised the steps taken by the government under the supervision of the Prime Minister for the cashless economy and complete digitalization of the economy.

Furthermore, he also expressed his company’s intention to increase further investments in Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by Federal Minister for Finance Muhammad Aurangzeb, Federal Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja, Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, CEO of Jez World Amir Ibrahim and other relevant government officials.
