In contrast to the partial payment of Rs. 388,100, the president instructed the bank to reimburse the fraudulent account holder the whole amount of 1.1 million.
According to a press release from the President Secretariat Press Wing on Saturday, the president gave these instructions while accepting a representation from Sardar Arshad Mahmood Jalwana (the complainant), who had to forfeit Rs 1.1 million after giving his private banking information to an unauthorised caller.
The president noted that the bank’s partial payment was adequate to demonstrate the validity of the account holder’s complete claim.
The customer complained to the bank, which responded by returning him Rs. 388,100; but, despite his relentless attempts, he did not receive the remaining funds.
