Rachi Police Chief Azad Khan has said that 835 contact numbers have been found on the mobile phone of arrested drug dealer Anmol Pinki, out of which 300 were numbers that were active customers of the accused, while people from the international gang were also involved.

He expressed these views while holding a press conference along with senior police officers at the Muhammad Ali Auditorium located at the Central Police Office.

Karachi Police Chief Azad Khan said that on the morning of May 12, the District City Police and the Federal Intelligence Agency conducted an intelligence-based operation and arrested the most wanted accused Anmol alias Pinky. During this raid, the police also recovered one and a half kilograms of cocaine and seven kilograms of various intoxicating chemicals and a 9mm pistol from the accused’s flat, a case of which was registered at the Garden Police Station.

According to Azad Khan, the same day, the police presented the arrested accused in the relevant court in the case registered, but unfortunately, during the appearance of the accused, the police committed negligence and after that the accused was taken to the court for remand, but the accused’s remand could not be obtained and the accused was sent to jail custody. The three police officers whose negligence and carelessness were revealed in this incident were immediately suspended, after which new teams were formed.

Karachi Police Chief Azad Khan said that a team headed by SP Investigation and SIU officers were included. DIG West was appointed as the inquiry officer for the violation of SOP in the court and he will be tasked with determining the responsible persons so that they can be identified and further legal action can be taken.

He said that a team was formed under the supervision of DIG South, which included 2 SSPs, after which the police obtained a 3-day remand of the accused and in only 2 of these 3 days, important details have come to light in the investigation conducted by the police.

He said that after major things came to light during the investigation, IG Sindh has formed a team under my leadership, which includes DIG Crime and Investigation Aamir Farooqui, DIG Special Branch Shiraz Nazir and DIG CTD Azfar Mahesar. The scope of this case is so big that we want it to be investigated properly.

Azad Khan said that during the investigation, it was found that 20 cases of the arrested accused are at the Sindh level, out of which 17 are old and 3 new cases have been registered, one case is of the ANF and 3 cases are registered in Lahore.

The Karachi Police Chief said that the accused has been arrested in 9 cases, 6 cases out of the old cases have been closed, the accused arrested in 3 cases is a fugitive and the accused arrested in the ANF case is absconding.

He said that apart from the 17 cases of the accused, there are 9 separate cases of her network, which are cases of riders in which the name of the accused could not be included. The arrested accused has been active in the drug trade since 2014, while Pinky started the drug trade in Karachi since 2018 and worked online.

According to the Karachi Police Chief, when the accused came under the radar in Karachi, she would shift to Lahore and continue her work. The police chief said that the accused’s mobile phone has been forensically examined by the CTD, after which it was revealed that the accused’s mobile phone has 869 contact numbers whose locations are being obtained. The police have obtained the locations of 639 contact numbers, out of which only 132 are Karachi contact numbers, while the other contact numbers are not from Karachi. The locations of 240 are yet to be found, which the police are working on.
