Oman muscat (Pakistan Correspondent) The Embassy of Pakistan in Muscat the capital of the Sultanate of Oman organized a dignified ceremony to mark Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir (Kashmir Exploitation Day) The event was attended by members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri communities as well as individuals from various walks of life The ceremony commenced with the reading of the special messages of the President of Pakistan the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister of Pakistan by Deputy Head of Mission Bilal Hassan and Community Welfare Attache Hafiz Abdul Mannan Baig Addressing the gathering Ambassador of Pakistan Dr. Syed Naveed Safdar Bokhari reaffirmed that the Government and the people of Pakistan would continue their unwavering support for the just struggle of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) for their right to self-determination He stated that India’s revocation of Articles 370 and 35A of its Constitution on 5 August 2019 was a blatant violation of international law the United Nations Security Council resolutions and its international commitments He emphasized that Pakistan would continue to expose these illegal actions at every international forum Paying tribute to the courage resilience and sacrifices of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir Ambassador Bokhari said that Pakistan would continue to raise the voice of the Kashmiri people effectively at regional and international forums. He also appreciated the efforts of the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora in highlighting the Kashmir issue globally and stressed that it is imperative to educate the younger generation about the true history and facts of the Kashmir dispute so that attempts to distort history and spread propaganda can be effectively countered The Ambassador urged the international community to play a meaningful role in resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continue extending its moral political and diplomatic support to the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people at every level On the occasion Dr. Zahid Qamar Associate Professor at Sultan Qaboos University and Zahid Shakoor Acting Chairman of the Pakistan Social Club Oman highlighted the historical legal and humanitarian dimensions of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in their addresses Renowned Pakistani poet Nasir Maroof paid tribute to the sacrifices and struggle of the Kashmiri people by reciting a moving poem A documentary highlighting Indian atrocities human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the ongoing struggle of the Kashmiri people was also screened during the event.
