Islamabad: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has urged the friendly countries to benefit from investment opportunities in Pakistan.
Addressing a function in Islamabad, he said the government through its prudent and investment friendly economic policies has opened up various sectors of economy for investment.
He said Pakistan offers unique strategic location, attractive investment policies with lucrative incentives, huge comparative advantage, dedicated skilled and cheap labour force.
Ishaq Dar said the government took bold decisions to stabilize the national economy.
He said Pakistan has successfully completed the 7th review with International Monetary Fund without taking any waiver from the fund.
The Minister highlighted the steps taken by the government for the safety net for the poorest of the poor under National Income Support Programme.
Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar also chaired a meeting of the high level committee on regularization of concessionary regime in the spheres of customs, sales tax and income tax.
The meeting reviewed the measures and proposals regarding the second phase of withdrawal of the concessionary regime.
The first phase was successfully completed last year. The final phase would likewise be undertaken in the fiscal year 2016-17.
