ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that under the fearless leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Pakistan Army not only gave a befitting reply to the Afghan provocation but also forced them to retreat by destroying several of their posts.

In his statement, the Prime Minister strongly condemned the provocation by Afghanistan in Pakistan’s border areas and paid tribute to the Pakistan Army for its vigorous and effective action in response to the Afghan provocation.

The Prime Minister said that he is proud of the professionalism of the Pakistani Armed Forces, there will be no compromise on the defense of Pakistan and every provocation will be given a befitting and effective response. Our defense is in strong hands and we know how to defend every corner of the country.

He said that the Pakistan Army has always given a befitting reply to all kinds of external aggression and the entire nation stands with the security forces of Pakistan.

The Prime Minister reminded that Pakistan has on several occasions provided information to Afghanistan about terrorist elements like Fitnatul Khawarij and Fitnatul Hindustan present there, who are carrying out operations against Pakistan from Afghan soil.

The Prime Minister said that terrorist organizations are supported by elements present in Afghanistan. Pakistan expects the Afghan caretaker government to ensure that its territory is not used by terrorist elements against Pakistan.
