A new trailer for Marvel Studios’ new superhero film ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ has been released, in which a surprising glimpse of Doctor Doom has further increased the curiosity of fans about the film.
The trailer shows a Doctor Doom who seems to be suffering from internal conflict and breakdown, while fans are also getting the opportunity to see the villain’s character more closely for the first time.
The biggest highlight of the film is the return of Robert Downey Jr., however this time he is not playing Iron Man but the dangerous villain Doctor Doom. This is the first time since ‘Avengers: Endgame’ that Robert Downey Jr. has returned to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he will face an entire cinematic universe.
This trailer is actually the same footage that was shown exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con last month, but now it has also been released for general audiences. The trailer was also shown a day earlier at Disney’s D23 event on August 14.
A special video of Hugh Jackman was also shown at the event before the trailer was shown, in which he was seen talking about the film as ‘Wolverine’. Interestingly, Deadpool, who was not present with him in the video, kept scolding him and whispering to him what he should say.
The video also showed an interesting exchange between Deadpool and Jackman. Deadpool told Jackman that he had just reached out to check on him and was thinking that he might need a few more people to complete the cast of the film. Jackman replied that he would love to be a part of the film and maybe he could convince Ryan Reynolds to come to ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
Avengers: Doomsday is being directed by the Russo brothers and stars several big names from Marvel and other franchises, including the X-Men. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen from the original X-Men films of the 2000s also star.
Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth from the original Avengers cast will reprise their roles, while Letitia Wright and Winston Duke from Black Panther, Simo Liu from Shang-Chi, and Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Eben Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Coen from Fantastic Four: First Class also star.
The film also stars Anthony Mackie, best known for his role as Captain America, and Paul Rudd, star of Ant-Man. Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell and David Harbour from ‘Thunderbolts’ have also become part of this big Marvel project. Geographic Reference
Marvel Studios has kept information about the film’s story and characters very limited so far. Several teasers based on different characters were released in the last months of 2025 and early 2026, while a trailer for the film was also released in July.
Now fans are looking forward to the full release of the film. ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will hit theaters on December 18, where the clash between Doctor Doom and heroes from different Marvel universes will be shown on the big screen.
