ISLAMABAD: The 141th birth anniversary of father of the nation Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah would be celebrated on Sunday (December 25) throughout the country.
Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was born on December 25, 1876 in Karachi. The government has announced week-long celebrations of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s birth anniversary. The celebrations would be aimed at educating the youth about the Quaid’s vision and Pakistan’s ideology.
The day has been declared a public holiday. A change of guard ceremony will be held at the Quaid’s mausoleum in Karachi early in the morning. In their messages on the occasion, President Mam¬noon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif paid tribute to the Quaid’s leadership.
Prime Minister in his message said, ‘As we celebrate the 140th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah today, the entire nation remembers the founder of our nation with utmost reverence and great admiration. We, as a nation, are thankful to Allah Almighty for bestowing us with the great Quaid who led the Muslims of subcontinent and ultimately achieved an independent homeland for us. He united the scattered Muslims under a single flag in his struggle for establishment of an independent Muslim state on the map of the world. Even today, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is a source of inspiration and guidance for us all, which is because of his exemplary character and exceptional leadership qualities.’
The president urged the nation to forge unity to defeat the forces of extremism and militancy and try to uphold the principles of democracy, constitution and the rule of law. “Let us dedicate ourselves, on this historic occasion, to keep the unity of the country and glory of Islam uppermost in our thought and deed.” News Desk
