MARDAN: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Monday unleashed verbal onslaught against President of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal-ur-Rehman while asserting that Jewish lobby does not need to field spies in presence of politicians like him.
He was addressing a rally here in Mardan today. Khan taunted that Fazalur Rehman joins ranks of every incumbent government.
While commenting on the recent attack at residence of Justice Ijaz, Khan asked Wajid Zia, head of defunct Panamagate Joint Investigation Team (JIT), not to dither as whole nation stands behind him.
“They [read Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz] are now targeting [members of] Panamagate JIT. All robbers have garnered on single platform for attacking state-institutions. [PTI] will prove on April-29 that whole nation stand behind its judiciary”, asserted Khan. He taunted that those who looted country were now denigrating state-institutions.
Responding to PMLN supreme leader Nawaz Sharif’s political mantra ‘why I was ousted’, Khan said that he [Nawaz] was forced out due to Rs300 bn corruption.
Khan challenged political foes to prove allegations that he [Imran Khan] had used even a single penny of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s government [KPK] govt in past four and a half years.
Khan also took a jibe at Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif while awarding him title of ‘Showbaz Sharif’. He claimed that KPK CM travelled with least protocol in Pakistan.
“PTI will strengthen state-institutions if we gain power. I have never bowed before anyone and will not let nation bow before anyone”, vowed Khan while adding, “[We] will stand Pakistan on its feet”.
Khan made it clear that there was no place in PTI for venal politicians in the party and announced to oust as many as 17 corrupt lawmakers. NNI
