NASA has begun a new phase to clean up the growing space debris.
This debris consists of old satellites, rocket fragments and other unused space equipment, which are rapidly orbiting Earth and pose a threat to active satellites or future missions.
This new phase plans to capture the debris using advanced robotic arms and nets and burn it in the Earth’s atmosphere.
Some of the debris will be removed from orbit and brought for recycling or reuse. NASA will do this work in collaboration with private companies and international organizations.
According to experts, if space cleaning is not controlled, future satellite launches and space exploration may be at great risk.
