Rawalpindi: Pakistan men’s team head coach Misbah-ul-Haq has stated that he will miss senior batsman Mohammad Hafeez in the three-match series against South Africa.

The 40-year-old Hafeez was not named in the squad as he won’t be available to join the bio-bubble on February 3. He is currently taking part in a cricket league in Dubai which will conclude on February 6

“Hafeez is an important player for us but in certain things, you cannot do anything. The medical panel has created bubble protocols and set the [February] 3 date viewing all the things,” Misbah said in a virtual presser today.

“As a coach, we will miss him but this is the opportunity for someone else to step up,” he added.

It must be noted that chief selector Mohammad Wasim announced the 20-member squad for the South Africa series, starting from February 11.
