Millions of online platforms that are against religion, state and morality have been blocked in Pakistan.

In Pakistan, more than 1 million web links and URLs have been blocked for spreading digital content against religion, state and morality.

According to the details, the highest number of blockings were made for sharing illegal and inappropriate content on Facebook and TikTok. PTA checked and reported 229,000 links on Facebook, 197,000 were blocked.

43,000 URLs were checked on Instagram, 38,000 were blocked, while the blocking rate was 87%. More than 174,000 links of illegal content on TikTok were checked, while
more than 163,000 links of TikTok videos were blocked.

The most stringent crackdown was carried out on TikTok, in which 94% of the content was blocked. 72,000 links were checked on YouTube, more than 64,000 links were blocked.

More than 112,000 links of X were checked and 70,800 links were blocked. The blocking rate on X was the lowest, with only 62% of the content blocked.

Out of 898,000 links on various other platforms, 891,000 links were blocked. More than 1.4 million links and URLs of contempt of court, obscenity, anti-religious, proxy and hateful content were blocked. Obscenity and anti-moral content topped the list, with more than 1.061 million links blocked.

148,000 links against the state and defense of Pakistan were blocked. More than 109,000 links against anti-religious content were blocked. 76,000 links against sectarian and hateful content were blocked. The blocking rate remained the lowest on content related to defamation and fake identity.
