May 9 cases: ATC acquits Shah Mahmood, jails PTI leaders in Kot Lakhpat verdict

An anti-terrorism court on Monday announced its verdict in two May 9 arson cases, holding proceedings inside Kot Lakhpat Jail.

ATC Judge Manzar Ali Gul delivered the reserved verdicts in cases related to the arson incident outside Rahat Bakery and another at Shadman police station.

The trials were conducted within the jail premises under security measures.

An anti-terrorism court in Lahore sentenced Sanam Javed and Aliya Hamza to five years each, and Yasmin Rashid, Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Ayesha Bhutta, and Ejaz Chaudhry to 10 years each in prison.

Judge Manzar Ali Gul delivered the reserved judgment at Kot Lakhpat Jail, acquitting Shah Mahmood Qureshi in both cases.

The court sentenced Yasmin Rashid, Ejaz Chaudhry, and Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed to 10 years in prison each.

The cases pertained to arson incidents outside Rahat Bakery and at Shadman Police Station.
