The spokesperson of the Ministry of Health has said that Pakistan is moving rapidly towards self-reliance in the health sector.
According to the details, an eleven-member high-level delegation from Saudi Arabia is arriving in Pakistan today to implement Pakistan’s national vision of self-sufficiency in vaccine production.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Health said that this is the result of the efforts of Health Minister Mustafa Kamal in the last seven months. Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has held three meetings with his Saudi counterpart so far. In which detailed discussions were held on key issues such as local vaccine production, investment and technical cooperation.
Regarding local vaccine production, Health Minister Mustafa Kamal has held a meeting with the Minister of Industry of Saudi Arabia. In which progress was made on vaccine manufacturing, pharmaceutical industry and industrial cooperation.
Mustafa Kamal said that focal persons were appointed from both sides in the meeting. Dr. Obaid, Chief Executive Officer, DRAP, was appointed as the focal person from Pakistan.
The Health Minister said that Nizar Y. Al-Hariri has been appointed as the Senior Advisor to the Minister of Industries by Saudi Arabia. In the same vein, the Chief Executive Officer of Pakistan DRAP had six detailed meetings with the Advisor to the Saudi Ministry of Industry.
Mustafa Kamal said that they are committed to the local production of vaccines. Local production of vaccines will meet the needs of the country.
