Student Mah Noor Cheema performed brilliantly in A-Level and broke several world records by passing the A-Level examination with 24 A grades.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif paid a great tribute to the talented student Mah Noor. In a statement released on the social networking website X, he said that Mah Noor’s extraordinary success is a beacon for the youth.

The Prime Minister said that Mah Noor’s admission to a higher educational institution with world records is a matter of pride. I still remember meeting Mah Noor with Quaid Nawaz Sharif today. We are all proud of you, Mah Noor.

According to a report by the British broadcasting organization BBC, 18-year-old British student Mah Noor Cheema of Pakistani origin has been admitted to the famous Exeter College of Oxford University due to her outstanding success. Mah Noor Cheema has created several world-class records by combining World Level 4 and GCSE in the A-Level examination.

Speaking to Pakistani private channel Geo News, Mah Noor Cheema’s father Barrister Usman Cheema said that Mah Noor set 4 world records in the A-level examination, and it was a dream for his daughter to study medicine.

This is not the first time that Mah Noor Cheema has proven her academic prowess. Earlier, at the age of 16, Mah Noor Cheema had achieved a unique academic honor when she obtained 99% ‘A stars’ in 34 subjects of the GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education).

‘I was passionate about reading books and learning about new things, while my peers had different interests and life goals.’

In the past, students used to repeat subjects in board exams to increase their total marks, but Mah Noor Cheema obtained a total of 19 A stars and A grades, her result is a high example of higher education.

Mah Noor Cheema has set a new world record for the most A stars and A grades in the A-level examination. Mah Noor Cheema’s third world record is for the most A grades in CSE, O-level and A-level.

The fourth world record of the Pakistani-origin student is that she chose 58 subjects in 24 A-level and 34 GCSE examinations.

Speaking to Geo News, Mah Noor Cheema said, “I am very happy to be offered admission to medicine by Oxford University. I feel over the moon to see my childhood dream come true. I will go to Oxford University in October. I am happy to start a new chapter in life.”

In this education, which is equivalent to O-level in the Cambridge system, most children consider it sufficient to pass a maximum of 11 subjects. But Mah Noor scored outstanding marks in all the subjects she was interested in, from astronomy to mathematics and English to Latin.

She told the BBC in 2023 that ‘she knew from the beginning that she was different from other children because her hobbies were not like those of ordinary people.’

‘I was passionate about reading books and learning about new things, while my peers had different interests and life goals.’

Perhaps this was the reason why her experience of studying at school was not particularly good. ‘I had already studied the lessons that were taught in class and wanted to know more.’

Mahnur wanted to achieve excellent results in 50 subjects, but under the rules of the British education system, she chose 10 subjects at school and took the remaining subjects as a private student. Thus, in two years, she achieved outstanding results in 34 different subjects.

That is, Mahnur was a student with extraordinary abilities, and perhaps for this reason, raising her was an extraordinary experience for her parents as well.

Mah Noor’s parents are very happy with the success of their eldest daughter Mah Noor. But they have spent their precious time and resources on providing the best education, keeping in mind her intelligence.

Her mother Tayyaba Cheema, while talking to BBC Urdu, said that ‘Mahn Noor was very different from her other two children from the beginning and that is why they had to pay special attention to Mah Noor.’

Regarding Mah Noor’s childhood, she said that her daughter had an extraordinary passion for reading and ‘she would remember whatever she read.’

‘Whenever we went to buy books, she would insist on buying the entire series. I thought it would take 10 to 12 days to finish it, but she would finish it all in two days and then take other books.

About Mahnoor’s love of reading, she says that ‘even when she was studying math, she would pick up a book during her breaks and read it.’

According to Tayba, the exceptionally intelligent child thinks beyond his age. He asks questions and also gives his opinion.

‘Raising Mahnoor was more difficult than other children. You cannot entertain such a genius child with words. You have to explain them logically and they cannot be satisfied without giving justification.’

She said, ‘Earlier, I thought that children should not interfere in everything so much. It was very difficult for me. But then gradually I understood and we came to the same page.’

Tayba’s effort was to ensure that by giving Mahnoor more attention, ‘the other children would not feel inferior… The effort is to ensure that no one is given an advantage over anyone else.
