Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi while addressing the United Nations General Assembly session talked on multiple issues. In a comprehensive address Khaqan Abbasi talked on Pakistan’s sacrifices in war against terror, Indian role in sponsoring terrorism and instability in Pakistan, brutality of Indian forces in held Kashmir, disappointment of Pakistan on US President Donald Trump’s South Asia’s policy, and ethnic cleansing against Rohingya Muslims of Myanmar.
He highlighted the plight of Kashmiris. While disclosing detail of Indian brutalities in Kashmir, he said that innocent protesters including children and women were attacked with pellet guns; consequently hundreds of innocents lost their eye sights. Shooting indiscriminately at children, women and youth has killed hundreds of innocent people. These brutalities fall in the category of human rights violation, war crimes and violation of the Geneva Convention. Pakistan rightly asked for international investigation into India’s atrocities in occupied Kashmir. An inquiry commission should be sent to Indian occupied Kashmir to verify nature of Indian human rights violations in the valley. Due to sheer stubbornness, India is refusing since decades to not implement United Nations Security Council’s resolutions for the peaceful solution of Kashmir dispute. UN and world powers must play their role to give the right to people of Kashmir to decide their destiny.
As India is refusing to indulge in negotiations to talk on Kashmir dispute with Pakistan, UN should play active role for the implementation of its own resolutions regarding Kashmir issue. Prime Mister once again reiterated will of Pakistan to resume dialogue with India in order to address on all the issues including Kashmir dispute. Pakistan wants to maintain peace and security in the region but India is not only refusing to come on negotiating table but also is involved in anti-Pakistan activities. In international forums Pakistan has already presented solid evidences of the Indian presence in exploiting anti-state elements in Baluchistan and other parts of the country. Pakistan has also expressed its reservations that Indian consulates in Afghanistan are sponsoring terror in Pakistan.
UN and world powers must play their role in giving right to people of Kashmir to decide their destiny.
