Lawyers in Karachi City Court have tortured YouTuber Rajab Butt, whose videos have gone viral on social media.
According to YouTuber Rajab Butt was tortured in Karachi City Court on Monday when the case against him for hurting religious sentiments was being heard.
Rajab Butt appeared in the city court after his interim bail expired, but the situation became tense during the hearing and due to the commotion, some lawyers attacked Rajab Butt.
Rajab Butt’s lawyers tried to intervene, but the lawyers not only tortured him but also threw him out of the courtroom.
TikToker Nadeem Mubarak (Nani Wala) was also present on the occasion. Both are facing legal action in multiple cases. They returned to Pakistan together from London on December 10.
The Islamabad High Court had granted 10-day protective bail to both social media influencers on a petition filed by their relatives.
It should be noted that a blasphemy case has been registered against Rajab Butt at Haideri police station while he is on interim bail in the case.
Later, the court extended the interim bail of YouTuber Rajab Butt in the blasphemy case until January 13.
On the other hand, Rajab Butt’s lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, alleged in a post on the social media platform ‘X’ that lawyers attacked his client in the premises of Karachi City Courts during the hearing.
He said that today, I and other fellow lawyers from my Karachi office were present in the court with my client Rajab Butt in the City Court Karachi, and in our presence, some lawyers fatally attacked Rajab Butt in the court premises, which injured him.
He said that this unprofessional behavior of lawyers, taking the law into their own hands, is severely weakening the identity and reputation of lawyers across the country, while the leadership of lawyers in the country should emphasize that lawyers should defend their rights academically instead of forcefully confronting private litigants and parties.
He further said that if lawyers themselves become parties and continuously attack private litigants in the court premises, then their respect will continue to decline immensely and this is a sad aspect that has no place in any educated society.
