Isalamabad: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Central Secretary General Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri has said that if any step is taken against madrassas in any part of the country, we will stand as a leaden wall and will resist vigorously on every front.

In a strong response to the Balochistan government’s attitude regarding madrasa registration, he said that the rulers should be aware, otherwise they will be responsible for the consequences. Those who dream of closing madrasas or putting them under pressure should listen, this will never come true. Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam will protect religious madrasas at all costs.

He said that if any step is taken against madrassas in any part of the country, we will stand as a leaden wall and will resist vigorously on every front. Religious madrassas are a red line for us. If anyone tries to cross this red line, he will have to face a strict and decisive response.

Abdul Ghafoor Haideri said that the past is a witness that we have foiled every conspiracy against madrassas, we will not allow anyone to succeed in the future either. The government and the administration are deliberately using false statements. The provincial and district administrations should be alert and refrain from pushing the state towards further instability, otherwise the entire responsibility of the situation will fall on them.
