Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami will hold sit-ins at four places across the country today over the failure to reduce petroleum levy.
Jamaat-e-Islami has announced to hold sit-ins outside the Governor Houses in Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta and outside the Chief Minister House in Lahore. According to sources, a 15-day schedule for the sit-ins has also been prepared in Karachi. The sit-ins will begin at 3 pm.

Due to security reasons, the police have closed the roads leading to the Governor House for general traffic and have placed containers on the highways.

Containers have been placed on Metropole, PIDC and other highways and traffic officers have been deployed on the surrounding highways.

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that they will reach the Chief Minister House in Lahore by holding a historic march and will hold a sit-in. I tell the youth of Punjab to come out and stand up for their rights, we have no personal interest, we are fighting for the rights of the people. Our demands are clear, abolish the extortion levy, reduce the price of petrol.

He said that a sea of ​​people will also gather at the Governor Houses in Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta. The whole of Pakistan is standing behind these sit-ins. The increase in the prices of petroleum products makes everything more expensive.

On the other hand, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi, while holding a press conference at Idara Noor Haq on Sunday, said that we will take out a rally from the High Court, if the roads are blocked, we will confront the situation, our rally will go towards the Governor House, today’s protest will be bigger than the previous protest.

It should be noted that Jamaat-e-Islami had protested at more than 500 places across the country last week against the continuous increase in the prices of petroleum products and levy.
