Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court declared the ban on the political discourse of the prisoners in the prison rules to be in conflict with the provisions of the Constitution.
Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan of the Islamabad High Court issued the verdict on the petition of Shirafazl Marwat, which said that the blanket ban on the political discourse of the prisoners was in conflict with the provisions of the Constitution on freedom of association and expression.
It should be noted that the reason for the ban on meetings with the political leaders of the founding Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was said to be this provision of the prison rules.
After banning the meetings of founder PTI, a petition was filed in the Islamabad High Court to declare Article 265 null and void.
