Iranian President Masoud Peshkeshian has said that Iran prefers negotiations and diplomacy over war to achieve its rights and resolve conflicts.

According to media reports, the Iranian president said that Iran would defend its rights rather than bow to force, but did not want to close the path to talks.

Masoud Peshkeshian maintained that Iran does not prefer war and military confrontation, but wants to resolve problems through negotiations.

According to him, negotiations can be effective only when they are free from threats, pressure and unilateral demands. Iran will not give up its national rights and sovereignty.

It should be noted that this statement has come at a time when diplomatic contacts are ongoing between the United States and Iran on ending the war and arrangements related to the Strait of Hormuz.
